6/25 – mile 678 - Been a while. Made the first bread of the trip yesterday. Pressure cooker pot roast made a real treat too. Food is going well on the trip. Been seeing about a ship a day over last few days but the frequency is tailing off. Talked to one of the captains – a Russian guy. His only question was whether we had enough beer and whiskey on board. I assured him we did. No fish on yet. Water and air have been quite chilly so far. Hoping that when we get into warmer water we will begin to see fish.

Lots of drills and practice over the last few days. Sail changes, setting the storm trysail, establishing watch patterns and things to inspect. We’re getting there, but still have quite a ways to go before we are ready for the heavy stuff. Hoping it’s not too heavy…
